due to unforeseen circumstances, i must say goodbye to this little blog of mine. while i’m sad to see it go, i’m sure i’ll pop up somewhere else in this blogosphere world.
’til we meet again.

and snack again.

sometimes when you are inundated with amazing images of scandinavian apartments and houses, and you live in the united states where there are ticky tacky gift shops peppered throughout all the towns across the country, you forget maybe there are similar tacky gift stores say, in denmark. because we don’t have that image of denmark here. everything seems perfect and oh-so-stylish and comfortable and cozy and bright and cool.
again – i have more danish candle holders than i know what to do with, but i’ll buy ‘em when i see ‘em. and i got a little excited when i saw these miniature 7″ white candle holders. sure, they’re a little scuffed, but no big deal.

and then they rolled in the box.

mmm. hand painted roses on danish candle holders.
aw heck. bought ‘em anyway.
cuz that’s how i roll.

back in february i picked up a little white arabia finel measuring cup/saucepan thingie while out thrifting. in pretty darn pristine condition. i would venture to guess never been used.
the other day i felt obligated to pick up its ugly stepsister, found at the bottom of a utensil bin at goodwill. looks like she’s been rode hard and put away wet. used and abused and left on the side of the road. abandoned. but she hung in there. and now she’s in a loving home where someone appreciates her character.

gawd, this is the stupidest post ever.
i’d post a couple arabia plates i’ve found but one of them is packed up in storage. here’s a tiny decorative wall plate:

i still have visions of owning a home someday and having a plate wall similar to this.
and since today’s post is about arabia, i suppose i can show a photo of the ubiquitous mushroom bowl from arabia finel.
does fall make you boring? cuz i feel like i’ve suddenly become boring.
some of you are probably thinking, “suddenly?”
this is my new indian name. outbid rain. it pretty much sums up 2009 precisely. i have been outbid on so many houses i’ve lost count. and let’s face it. it was a record year for rainfall here in the northeast. outbid rain. i’m going to monogram some towels with the initials “OR.”
my house hopes have been dashed yet again. i’m pretty sure i’m down for the count as far as getting that 8 grand tax rebate for first-time home buyers.
but today is sunny. so, “yay.”
“drawing board, drawing board, where for art thou, drawing board?”

and ’til i get back to that dreaded drawing board, i’m bringing the sexy in my new low-heel mccabe børn fall boots.
can i just say how next to impossible it is to appliqué black felt with black embroidery thread with failing eyesight?

rice noodles, assorted fresh veggies, peanut butter and soy sauce (wheat-free organic tamari) dressing with cayenne pepper:

on a chip:

won 12 bucks in lotto.
i feel it. i’m on a winning streak.
don’t all desperate people say this?

learned to drive on a volkswagen bug bought here back in the early 70s. the place no longer exists – torn down and replaced by a 99 restaurant (tragic.) so a fine nostalgic collector’s item for me at 59¢.
i feel like the girl who cried wolf. hired a contractor to check out a house for me and draw up an estimate for needed repairs. and now i’m gonna try and buy a house (again.) i’ve heard this story before.
and again i craft.
it being 09-09-09 i better play lotto. i’m sure no-one else has thought of this.

new tabletop cloth/tapestry/not sure what it is picked up at goodwill. despite the roosters, i don’t think this screams country. there was something about it that appealed to me (the price? – $1.) is that the rooster’s comb or are they wearing berets?

i say beret. a jaunty-capped rooster. who can resist?
